Some love is built to weather storms… and some love is beautiful enough even to part seas and subdue natural disasters.

Rain, rain and more rain. That was the forecast for Lauren and Sal’s Wedding Day. We bought ponchos, Tyrone Farms set out a bucket of golf umbrellas and everyone prepared to make the best out of the hurricane that was headed in our direction… but instead of gale force winds and a torrential downpour, Hurricane Earl brought the most beautiful day of the year: mild temperatures, sunshine and a story-book breeze.

The juxtaposition and contrast of the whole day had us swooning: a black-tie affair in an old, rustic barn – modern details and the woodsy outdoors. So, naturally, we had to take her gorgeous Nicole Miller gown outside:

All of the perfection and gorgeous weather made for one giddy bride. Lauren was beaming the entire day. I’ve never seen someone so blissfully happy… and she deserves every ounce of perfection that the day provided.

She wore a coin on the bottom of her shoe that was given to her by her mother; a Swedish tradition that signifies the mother’s knowledge that her daughter will never go without anything she needs.

Laurens smile is one of those that is completely contagious. And not just to those around her… I am pretty sure, when she laughs, the whole world has to smile.

Lauren’s dad is one of the most warm, loving Father of the Brides I have had the pleasure of meeting. He was glowing when he saw his little girl in her dress. I live for these moments:

Under a Chuppah overlooking a field of sunflowers, Lauren and Sal gave their vows in the tradition of their ancestors; first in Hebrew and Italian, and then again in English.

Their getaway car was one that Sal’s Dad had in his antique car collection… an old (super-cool) Cadillac.

The flowers (by Stems Flower Design) were the BOMB. In fact, I could easily gush for days about how phenomenal all of the vendors were.

During their first dance they swayed to the tune of Fred Astaire’s “Cheek to Cheek”. A song that aptly begins: “Heaven, I’m in heaven, and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak…”

After the dances and toasts we took the opportunity to shoot in the sunflowers a little more… because how could we resist?!

Lauren and Sal: There are no words to express how much we adore you. We know that we will be friends for a long, long time and we are so blessed to have been a part of your beautiful day! You are wonderful people and we can’t wait to get up to New York for a visit, soon!
