Engaged: Emily and Wes

July 7, 2010

Emily and Wes are the kind of couple that is constantly making each other smile. Like, to the point that I’d wager they walk around with aching cheeks the vast majority of the time. They are lucky in love, and you can tell that they know it. So, when we met at Lake Oconee last Saturday, there was a lot of smiling. Oh, and some bee stings… but I’ll get to that later.

We started off on the green, and then decided to escape into the shade of the nearby woods… when suddenly you hear a chorus of “outch!” “ow!” “outch!”… and we all start running out of the woods; swarms of flying-insects-with-stingers trailing us. I got stung five times, Emily got  two, and Wes got one right on his chin. Graham walked away nearly unscathed; one measly sting (it was his idea to do the woods in the first place). And, just to show you the kind of person that Emily is, she starts apologizing to us (the people who led her into the pit of terror in the first place). Don’t worry; no one was allergic (and Emily and Wes are such troopers) so we just kept on keepin’ on.

These two are tailor made for one another. Get it?! TAYLOR. MADE?!? Whoomp whooooommmp.

It was a good thing we didn’t let those dirty-pollen-hoarders get us down… because we would have missed the gorgeous light by the lake

Seriously? The light!?! Combined with Emily’s gorgeousness… it’s almost too much to handle.

Emily and Wes, Thank you so much for spending some of your Fourth of July weekend with us… and we are super, SUPER sorry about getting you stung by angry insects. We, um, promise not to do that on your big day. We can’t wait for your beautiful October wedding!
