When I think back on the past year, and I try to count my time well spent, there are a lot of things that come to mind: tickle fights with my kids, effort spent pouring into our marriage, laughing with friends, traveling to new places and meeting new people. In truth, life is a tangled mess of goodness these days. It’s overwhelming in all of the best ways, and as I creep up on my 30th birthday I have complete confidence that the best is yet to come.

We like to start each new year with a recap of our favorite images from the past 12 months. Families are my thing. I have grown to really love capturing families as they truly are: wild, joyful, layered, real.

Looking back at these images creates a fullness in my heart that I cannot explain. I am so grateful to be able to call this work. Because, let’s be honest, we all know that it isn’t. It’s pure privilege.
