One of the things that we believe in really strongly is community. But we don’t believe that community is a noun. It’s not something that you might just happen to stumble across or bump into if you’re walking the right path or running in the right circles. Community is a verb. It’s something that you show up and DO. It’s something that you actively invest in over and over again. And if you don’t; if no-one chooses to do the work that community requires, then it goes away.

Humans are created to do life in community. It’s a part of our very DNA, and we can’t escape that fact. That’s why living without true community makes us feel isolated – it makes us feel alone – it thrusts us into the glaring, searing light of comparison and doubt. We need people around us to remind us who we are and what real life is all about.

Over the past 8 years we’ve been able to travel around and do life in some really cool communities with some people who are truly doing beautiful things – and they get to do them more beautifully because they’re doing them together.

Face-to-face together. Hand-in-hand together.

Inspire is one of those places, and we can’t wait to be a part of their 2017 retreat. It never fails to amaze us what happen when people show up in community, and we know that incredible things are going to happen in Newport in February. We would love to see you there.
